The Difference Between Plain and Twill

Apr. 08, 2020

What is twill? Twill is a cotton fabric with two diagonal twills and 45 ° left diagonal. The front side of the twill pattern is obvious, but the backside of the variegated twill is not very obvious. In general, there are two kinds of denim and fine twill. Denim uses cotton yarns over 32 (below 18 inches) for warp and weft yarns; fine denim uses cotton yarns under 18 (above 32 inches) for warp and weft yarns. Twills are available in plain white, bleached, and variegated. They are often used as uniforms in sportswear, sports shoes, sports shoes, emery cloth base fabrics, and padding. Wide-width bleached Twill Greige Polyester Fabric can be used as sheets, and can also be used as sheets after printing. The elementary colors and motley colors of the Woven Twill Dyed Fabric is brightened after electro-optical or calendering and can be used as umbrella surfaces and clothing clips.

The tissue of the Twill Dyed Fabric is a cotton fabric with two upper and lower twill and 45 ° left diagonal. The front side of the twill pattern is obvious, but the backside of the variegated twill is not very obvious. The warp and weft yarn counts are similar, the warp density is slightly higher than the weft density, and the feel is softer than khaki. It is divided into coarse twill and fine twill. Wide-width bleached twill fabric can be used as sheets, and can also be used as sheets after printing. The elemental and variegated fine twill fabrics are shiny after finishing by electro-optical or calendering and can be used as umbrella surfaces and clothing clips. The basic feature of the twill fabric is to use various twill weaves to make the fabric surface show diagonal lines composed of warp or weft long lines. Twill is a medium-thick low-grade twill cotton cloth, which is thick and thin (20-40 pieces). Both use 2/1 left twill weave. The texture is slightly thicker and softer than plain cloth, and the front grain is clear.

The plain weave is interwoven one by one, the twill is the second one or the third one, the plain weave is the same as the front and back, the front and back of the twill are different, the front is the left or right diagonal, and the reverse has no diagonal. The plain weave is dense and thick, and the twill structure is relatively soft. As for the use, the design of the color, the front warp of the twill is generally long, the gloss is good and the hand is soft, and it is mostly used in the clothing bed category. If you understand twill and plain weave, the difference will be clear.
